It has actually been suggested that better financial planning and an increase in financially independent wives has contributed to the increase, although that does not necessarily sit well with the figures which suggest it is the 60+ men who are filing for divorce.Emma Family Lawhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11853979081123852056noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5651763908454487460.post-32530616137453346972013-08-13T14:31:59.394+01:002013-08-13T14:31:59.394+01:00This poses the question, if divorce in the over 60...This poses the question, if divorce in the over 60's is on the rise along with problem of financial independence it would be interesting to know whether the majority of divorcees over 60 do have adequate financial provisions or if not returning to employment (which requires little or no experience) may actually be good for their social life and in re-establishing themselves as an individual.<br /><br />Either way the same issue exists with or without divorce that many do not save adequately for their retirement and there is often an imbalance in the man's favour with retirement income provisions which can create problems for a female widow.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
